Privacy

Your screenshots are yours.

The licensing and website infrastructure is deliberately separated from the content you capture.

Core privacy promise: SnipMaker does not need to upload your screenshots, clipboard contents or annotation text in order to provide ordinary screenshot annotation or licensing.

What stays local

What the SnipMaker service may process

Where required for beta registration, licensing and updates, our systems may process account identity, verified email address, entitlement/activation information, application version, release policy and narrow usage counts.

Why this separation matters

A screenshot tool can see sensitive information. We therefore design licensing so it does not need access to the screenshot itself. If we later introduce optional cloud or AI services, those services will be described separately and will not silently change this core boundary.

Website access and audience measurement

Like most web servers, our server records limited technical access information such as IP address, requested page, date and time, HTTP status, referrer and browser user-agent. We also use a small first-party, cookieless measurement request to distinguish ordinary JavaScript-capable browser visits from basic automated log traffic and to estimate active time spent viewing a page.

The measurement does not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, create a cross-site advertising identifier, or use a third-party analytics service. It may include a short-lived random page-view identifier held only in memory, page path, active-view duration, screen/viewport size, language, platform and a mobile-device indication. Approximate country and browser/device class may later be derived from the IP address and user-agent for aggregate reporting.

We use this information to understand whether the site is being used, which pages are useful, diagnose abuse and technical problems, and improve SnipMaker. IP addresses and similar online identifiers can constitute personal data. We therefore keep collection narrow, restrict access to authorised administration, and intend to retain raw identifiable web analytics only for a limited operational period before deletion or aggregation.

We do not use this website measurement to upload or inspect screenshots, clipboard contents or SnipMaker annotation content.

Cookies

The brochure site does not currently use non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce technologies that require consent, we will provide the appropriate information and controls before using them.
